Care and Cleaning

Your custom hand made rug is manufactured with the best quality materials and carpet yarn available. We would like to offer the following suggestions:

Opening and laying out your rug

  1. During midwinter the rug should be unrolled at room temperature.
  2. The rug may curl on the edges until it has a chance to relax and flatten completely within approximately 30 days. Weight such as furniture on the curled edges will help to flatten the rug. DO NOT REVERSE ROLL THE EDGES! Never re-roll the rug with the carpet side out.
  3. Hand brush the seams at the corners of the rug with your hand or a clean brush. This has been done before shipment but should be redone after being unrolled to blend the carpet pile.

Cleaning and caring for your rug

  1. Have professionally cleaned or use dry chemical (powder) cleaners for sale at better carpet stores. DO NOT STEAM OR DRY CLEAN. Local spot cleaning suggestions are listed below.
  2. Loose threads or yarns particularly on fringe rugs should be cut with scissors, not pulled.
  3. The rug should be turned around approxiamtely every six (6) months to change the traffic and soil patterns.
  4. The rug should not be rolled and stored in excessive heat or cold.
